A British sitcom by Channel 4 which revolves around the comedic adventures of three technical support workers set in the London offices of the fictional Reynholm Industries. It written by Graham Linehan, produced by Ash Atalla. Chris O'Dowd, Richard Ayoade, Katherine Parkinson, Chris Morris and Matt Berry are lead roles of the show.
The show is the surreal look at what it's really like to be the underof every company. Under the corporate high-rise towers which are full of wonderful lively people with one success story after another and while others work in fantastic surroundings, there are three employees struggling to work below ground in the dark and horrible basement, trying to make it into normal workplace as possible.
The It Crowd focuses on these three IT staff: the dorky genius but naive Maurice Moss, the workshy and lazy peevish co-worker Roy Trenneman and their head/relationship manager Jen Barber who knows nothing about their field of work and doesn't even know the difference between hardware and software. It also focuses on Denholm Reynholm and his son Douglas which are the bosses of Reynholm Industries.
The comedy premiered on February 3, 2006 and has four series of six episodes each. In 2011, Graham Linehan announced that there won't be a fifth series but a special episode. The final episode aired on September 27, 2013. The show has won awards from the BAFTA's, the International Emmys and the Rose d'Or television entertainment awards. The IT Crowd also received an award from the fan voted Comedy.co.uk Awards organised by the British Comedy Guide and gained individual awards from British Comedy Awards and Irish Filam and Television Awards.
